QUEER ART FILMS @ MIAMI'S FAVORITE ART FAIR LGBT art and film meet in the back garden of Superfine! The Fair at the heart of Midtown Miami this December. Join 250+ art-lovers and cinephiles in the back garden of Superfine! The Fair for a 90 minute series of short films poised directly at the intersection of LGBT themes and the contemporary art world. Curated and presented by South Florida's own OUTshine Film Festival (formerly MiFo), you'll enjoy a welcome addition to Miami Art Week's generally LGBT-lacking schedule. With a constant commitment to spotlighting LGBT artists, Superfine! brings a new dimension to our Miami fair through this partnership. Filmgoers will delight in gourmet popcorn and a complimentary craft cocktail from The Pool Bar at Vagabond Hotel Miami's pop-up bar, as well as complimentary admission to our arTEA LGBT Soirée immediately following. ART.FILM | MOVER + SHAKER Q+A Between the two film programs, attendees will enjoy a brief Q+A with Superfine! - The Fair director Alex Mitow, OUTshine Film Festival director Victor M. Gimenez, and Chris Adamo of The New Tropicw Tropic. Led by Lauren Fairbanks of S+G, the panel will elucidate the merging of film and art, and how each influences the other. THE FILMS TASTE OF LOVE - Directed By: Paul Scheufler, Austria, 4:32 mins "What is the taste of love?" Could it be sweet, sour, bitter or even salty? A girl embarks on an aromatic journey of love, stimulating her taste buds to the point of climax. With all senses, she explores the various forms love can take on. “Love is as diverse as our sense of taste.” TAILOR - Directed By: Calí dos Anjos, Brazil, 9:47 mins About a transgendered cartoonist and the stories of the people designed by him. NAUGHTY AMELIA JANE - Director: Risheeta Agrawal, India/Czech Republic, 11:37 mins This film is a satire on the hilarious hypocrisy of society towards anything that goes against the "conventional social order of things”, told through a story of two girls who may or may not have had a connection. This is a story about speculation. SISAK - Directed by: Faraz Ansari, India, 15:28 mins A first-of-its-kind silent LGBTQ film in India, Sisak makes waves before the visuals of this short hit the shore. Set in the fast-paced environs of the usually bustling Mumbai local train system, it details a romance that develops slowly and intoxicatingly, nestled in the silences and quiet comforts of the end-of-day train journeys. THE NIGHT CLEANER - Directed By: Blair Fukumura, Canada, 5:30 mins As the night cleaner in Canada's busiest gay bathhouse, Travis has his work cut out for him. With good humour he takes us on an amusing and sometimes harrowing tour through his nightly duties. **Seating is limited and on a first-come first-served basis so please arrive early.
