We are excited that on May 6, Michael Spring, Miami-Dade County Senior Advisor to the Mayor and Director of the Miami-Dade County Department of Cultural Affairs, will join us to bring us up to speed with the state of the arts in Miami. We are curious to hear what is on the minds of lawmakers and government leaders, particularly around funding and upcoming arts policy issues. We also want to know how EALM members can get involved and make noise about the arts more broadly. We will conclude the session with a reflection and dialogue around what actions we can take collectively and individually as arts advocates.
Join us! If you already know you want to join what is sure to be a lively conversation (and don't mind sharing your info with us), due to the high response rate and the need to make sure we have adequate space, please feel free to fill out the RSVP on Eventbrite. All are welcome and we appreciate your help in spreading the word.
Q: It's a breakfast event. What's the plan?
A: If you are planning to eat breakfast or have coffee, to minimize interruptions and noise that can be potentially distracting, you are invited to visit the bar when you arrive. You can order, pick up, and pay for your items and take them to the area we are set up. Croissants, muffins and fruit will be available, along with a full espresso bar.
Q: What is this event?
A: Emerging Arts Leaders of Miami meets monthly for a over breakfast at Books & Books at the Arsht Center. The regular meetups will feature a mix of speakers, leadership conversations, and open dialogue on pressing topics relevant to the local arts administration & entertainment community. The goal is to connect, learn, and have fun!
