Indie Distribution for the Entrepreneurial Filmmaker Workshop

With the increasing number of new digital technologies, is it a surprise that everything is being disrupted, most importantly distribution practices? Audience consumption habits are changing and we can argue that film distribution is shifting from a supply-led to a demand-led market. There is also an abundance of content which is only matched by the complete accessibility to it, anytime, anywhere, the options are endless. There are no barriers to distribution, only to awareness and engagement. You need to allocate time and resources to engage people with your work. This is the workshop to help you learn how to independently distribute and be an enterpreneurial filmmaker. TOPICS WILL INCLUDE BUT NOT LIMITED TO: - Armed with a good story and good storytelling skills, you should be able to profit if you know how to take responsibility for your creation, how do you do that? - How to adapt to an ever-changing industry that requires great creativity as well as business savvy? - How do you utilize the virtually endless avenues of self-distribution, like VODs, iTunes, YouTube, and Vimeo (just to name a few)? - How do you create your own theatrical release or should you bypass it all together?
