The New World Center transforms into a late-night lounge—complete with club-style lighting and videos—during this innovative musical, social and dance event. Brooklyn-based DJ/composer Panic Bomber, whom Ocean Drive called a “game-changing” DJ, spins original electronic grooves, including ones together with the New World Symphony. The orchestra performs two sets of classical and contemporary music—ranging from Tchaikovsky and Ravel to John Adams and Frank Zappa. Also featuring the world premiere of Molly Joyce’s Black Lights for DJ and orchestra; soprano Julia Bullock and electric guitarist D.J. Sparr as soloists; “Pulse Unplugged,” an acoustical set performed in the SunTrust Pavilion; and a post-performance dance showcasing Panic Bomber.
Doors open at 9:00 PM and the first 100 guests receive a free drink. After the event head to SET nightclub (320 Lincoln Road) and show your Pulse wristband for complimentary admission between 12:30 AM-1:30 AM and one free branded cocktail.
This Pulse features a partnership with Sktchy, an app that began as a Miami art project before mushrooming into an international sensation. Artists will be on hand to sketch those in attendance, with selected drawings projected inside and outside the New World Center during the event.
