We Care Cruises invites you to sail with us on a 8 day adventure to the Caribbean departing from lovely Miami on the CARNIVAL Breeze to benefit Project Open Hand and also benefiting Broadway Cares/Equity Fights Aids. We were able to donate $950 to Broadway Cares with our 2013 Cruise.
The boisterous Carnival Breeze debuted in June 2012 as the third offering in the line's popular Dream class. Continuing a transition that began with sister ship Carnival Magic in 2011, 3,690-passenger, 130,000-ton Breeze embodies a new breed of Fun Ship with a toned-down tropical feel and more cohesive decor. Changes come thanks to a new designer and the first full execution of the line's half-billion-dollar "Fun Ship 2.0" initiative, a fleetwide identity overhaul focusing on food, booze and entertainment. Breeze features 23 of the 25 aspects of Fun Ship 2.0, a program punctuated by its focus on low-commitment, high-energy offerings -- 20-minute standup comedy routines, 30-minute (tops) production shows, and fast-food sushi, burgers and burritos. The new quartet of dining and drinking venues on the sun deck offer a prime example. Stationed at the four corners of the main pool area are a burger counter designed by spikey-haired Food Network personality Guy Fieri, a rolled-to-order Mexi-Cali burrito stop, and a pair of Caribbean beach bars with mascots (Red Frog, Blue Iguana) and booze specialties (rum and tequila, respectively). The new entertainment offerings, which include three up-tempo production shows, have been scaled up in terms of impressive lighting, graphics and sound, and pared down in terms of running length. Fat Jimmy's C-Side BBQ, a fee-free dining venue that materializes on sea days, and Bonsai Sushi, a for-fee, sit-down Japanese restaurant (a first for the line) featuring singing waitresses, are also new to the game.
Along with 3 relaxing and fun sea days, you will visit 4 magnificent ports. Grand Turk is the largest of the Turks Islands, named after an indigenous cactus that actually looks like it's wearing a Turkish fez. With a population of less than 4,000, the island has plenty of room to relax, swim, dive or fish, and just the weather for doing it; the average temperature ranges from 80-90 degrees Fahrenheit and there are around 350 days of sunshine per year. One of the main draws is diving, and Grand Turk's protected coral reef, which drops to 8,000 feet, is even close enough to shore for beach dives. You'll also find many Colonial-style buildings and ruins, along with The Turks and Caicos National Museum, not to mention the Grand Turk Cruise Center featuring the Flow Rider, Margaritaville and lots of great shops. Historic San Juan, once nothing more than cobblestone streets and the distinctive architecture of the Spanish who founded it, is now a modern world capital. Among the peaceful shaded courtyards and commanding colonial fortresses of El Morro and San Cristobal, you'll find a cosmopolitan city of wide boulevards, lively cafes, highly regarded galleries and designer boutiques. This is where the old world meets the new — and you can enjoy them both. St. Maarten, where else can you experience the food, style and hospitality of two separate countries in an exotic West Indian setting? St. Maarten is divided between French St. Martin in the north and Dutch St. Maarten in the south. Both sides of this 37-square-mile island offer beautiful ocean vistas, gourmet cuisines, first-rate water sports and beaches, and some of the best duty-free shopping in the world. St. Thomas where pirates once roamed the alleys of this beautiful island, which is today besieged by a treasure trove of shopping options. But there's more to this shopper's Shangri-La than an international grab-bag of perfume and electronics. This U.S. Virgin Island also claims not only one of the world's most beautiful beaches - the heart-shaped Magens Bay - but a world-renowned golf course and simply spectacular nightlife. You can don a snorkel to explore coral reefs bright as a wildflower meadow, or take in the amazing views on a soaring aerial tram ride to Paradise Point. You'd be surprised at just how much of the above fits into just 32 square miles.
