have been going to this place for years now and let me tell you this, find some where else to go a lot of t-girls from up north have come and destroyed the image of this place always making drama trying to prostitute, also striaght people are coming in because its free. you would wonder if its still a gay club. and the drinks are pricey and small, music sucks always the same songs,no ones looks happy at and guys just rub on you with no respect,and sobe is not really a gay friendly place at night,few murders have happen in front of twist also.

5 bars, friendly bartenders, small lousy tasting drinks for the $$$, stick to beer, gay-4-pay hustler-type strippers w/ bad attitudes, bridge and tunnel crowd; not your local South Beachers. Go for happy hour btwn 5-9P.

I've been going to TWIST SOBE for years every time i visit Miami (which is probably more than twice a year) and it has never let me down, i recommend it 100%.

Twist mainly hires straight, overly muscular, 30 something go-go dancers. Most of them are only interested in your "tips" and could care less about gays, whom they disdain. The owner of Twist must feel that gays are inferior to straights. In my opinion, a gay go-go bar should hire GAYS to dance, who are a lot more friendly to the patrons. Recently, a straight go-go guy came up to me, basically wanting a "tip" and angerly/abrutly departed when I said that I prefer to take home the go-go guys and fuck them.

We had a GREAT time at Twist; the multiple bars allow you to find a place you can enjoy & then go on to a different type of music if you like. Chris L. was our favorite bartender & made us feel at home. We met people from all over the country & the world, which we love to do. The only part we did not care for was the "dancer bar" in the back; felt like being hustled to me, but to each his own.

I was really expecting something decent after reading all these glowing reviews. I was surprised at how run down the place is; its long overdue for painting and freshening up. Also both dance floors were mediocre at best and the sound systems weren't very good. The whole place reminded me of a basement rec room. It's one of those places where they make carts of money but don't give anything back to the patrons for their bucks.

I absolutely heart TWIST.

If you are a snobby, designer obsessed, "I am better than you" type, you will not go to Twist. Twist is a 'everyone" type club where any type of gay person can go and have a great time. This is not a poser bar at all!!!! Yes, it can be sleazy, edgy, insane but it is loads of fun. That is the "charm" of Twist. Great music and some of the hunkiest male go-go dancers anywhere period dance there. As in almost all Sobe clubs, the party doesn't start until after midnight...then it gets packed. The notorious dark dance floor has more light now due to past incidents of pickpocketing and yes, the infamous, free-for-all sex on the dancer floor "incidents."( I will never tell!!!!) Even us locals love this place, no attitude, no cover charge, reasonably priced drinks, lots of fun and maybe you will have a story to tell later too...wink...wink!!!!

Twist has been around for a very long time, perhaps longer than any other gay bar/dance club on South Beach. Its a fun bar, always full of down-to-earth men. You definitely won't find the pretty, Prada-wearing, poser boys here but I've seen some pretty hot guys there on the occasions when I went. Its got different rooms with different type of music, so you can move around according your taste. Admittedly, its a bit on the sleazy side though. Still, I think its one of the better gay bars/clubs on South Beach and in all of Miami. All of the really good gay clubs that used to be on South Beach either closed down or went hetero years ago. That's why the real party people used to head north to Fort Lauderdale to hang out at the Coliseum on the weekends. If you're the type of person who has sophisticated taste you probably will not enjoy hanging out in Twist. Its just not set up to appeal to a high-profile clientele.

good thing is if you dont like one room you can choose to got toanother room with totally different music

I give them credit for having several different rooms with different kinds of music and the staff is very friendly... But... Yuck! So around the bend! Not for me, thanks... Oh, and did I mention how smoky it is?

7 bars, all ages, races. very friendly. kind of slutty. I always have an AWESOME time. Great music, dancers. People are friendly and chat with you. I always have stories to tell friends.

Twist is the ultimate bar to chill out at, dance your tail off, or find a piece of tail! There are so many different bars to visit but don't arrive till after 1am...south beach is asleep until then! Visit my hot friend Avi at the bar upstairs...he will take good care of you and your drinks!

Check out the cabana bar for some of the hottest strippers I've ever seen in my life!

the place is kind of small, being divided into many smaller 'rooms' with different kinds of music and dancers. music is really good. if you wanna dance - you'll have a blast. no attitude, but not so many very good looking guys either. anyway - it's a fun place and, since I can't think of a better place in miami, it's a must-see.

I have been to alot of gay clubs as I am a pilot and have alway been drawn back to Twist. You can really have a good time here, and be sure to dance on the upper lever dark dance floor. This is one bar that you will not leave alone. Todd Peeler. Shelby, North Carolina.
